Based in Layton, Utah, Val Stratford has worked as a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) since 1990 and served as president of the Utah Association of Independent Insurance Agents in 2002. Dedicated to community involvement, Val Stratford has also invested time as a board member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis.

Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC) of Weber-Davis is a group of clubs committed to enabling young people to reach their full potential. Among the roster of clubs are Ogden Teen Club, Odyssey Elementary, The Roy Hope Center, and North Davis Junior High. In order to achieve their mission, BGC implement a number of programs in different areas of development, including character, leadership, career, sport, and the arts. One arts program that operates year-round is the ImageMakers National Photography Program.

The ImageMakers National Photography Program is open to club members between the ages of 6 and 18 and is intended to provide a creative and fun-filled, educational experience that teaches children the basics of photography; it is offered at three different skill levels. Photographs from the workshops have the chance to be selected to join the annual photography contest, or they may be exhibited at BGC’s National Conference.
